GENITAL WART TOPICAL TREATMENT PROCEDURE
DAY 1
• With the aid of the brown pick, pick and apply medication directly on all the areas affected by the wart growth.
• Kindly note that burning and itching sensations may be experienced as the medication applied. Ensure that the medication is applied only to the affected parts.
• Allow medication to stay on the affected area for at least 3 to 5 minutes and wipe off with clean cotton and sterile water (or normal saline).
• After wiping, rinse area gently with normal saline (or warm water with salt).
• Kindly note that after application of the medication, the wart cells are deactivated and peeled off leaving area mildly sore. Hence the area is to be treated twice daily with normal saline (or warm water with salt)
• Apply penicillin ointment or iodine povidone ointment directly to the affected area and cover with a clean gauze or sanitary pad after treatment with warm water and salt twice daily.
SUBSEQUENT DAYS
• Dip a clean mini towel into warm water with salt and apply on the affected area (about 4 to 8 times per session) twice daily.
• Apply penicillin ointment or iodine povidone ointment directly to the affected area and cover with a clean gauze or sanitary pad.
• The above two steps is to be done twice daily until wound is completely healed.
